With the Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM for University Students – BWS plus, the Baden-Württemberg Stiftung supports the innovative cooperation of Baden-Württemberg universities. The programme is endowed with approx. 800,000 euros per year.
The aim of the program is to establish and build new relationships with foreign universities and intensify existing contacts for the long term. In a project which is part of BWS plus an option is available to grant a scholarship when an official partnership agreement does not already exist. Funding can be applied for to assist with various endeavors, such as pilot projects for joint measures, including preparatory talks, workshops, intercultural training, language courses and more. The aim of each project should be to continue the links as part of the “normal” Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM for University Students programme after the project period has expired.
The minimum application level is 10,000 euros and the maximum 60,000 euros each year. Applications may also be submitted for projects of longer than a year, up to a maximum duration of three years. Cross-university applications from two or more universities are also possible. In the five tendering rounds from 2011 to 2015, so far 43 projects have been implemented.
